You first need to gain the permission of the landowner through whose land the water flows and also hold a valid and current Rod Licence.Rod Licences can be obtained from the Post Office, the Environment Agency or online via the Gov.UK website.
You must carry your Licence with you whilst fishing or may be liable to a fine of up to £2,500. Currently a Rod Licence costs £30 for a year or £6 for a day. Junior Licences are free for 13 to 16 year olds. NO FISHING is permitted on any inland water between 15th March and 15th June, inclusive.
