Lamberhurst Community Outreach Support (LCOS)
Coping with your day to day routine during the Coronavirus outbreak may seem daunting but help is on hand in Lamberhurst, as we have set up a team of volunteer helpers in your local area to assist you.
Whether you have suspected or confirmed COVID-19, or you are choosing to self-isolate, volunteers are available to assist in jobs such as:
How do I access this service? By now you should have received a note through your door from your local Volunteer Helper. Please contact this person and explain what help you need. Alternatively you may call Cllr Dawn Beeby if you are unsure of who your designated helper is on: 07376 369699 / 890893 or email at [email protected] How do I pay for goods? Government has suggested we avoid using cash for the obvious reason that it can carry germs. If you are ordering from the shop (890278), The George & Dragon (891807) or Moby Dicks (07904 234618) please call ahead with your order, pay by card and inform your volunteer helper if you need help with a collection and delivery. Safety First! We are very conscious of avoiding the spread of the virus, so all helpers have been briefed on how to protect themselves and we ask that you minimise your risks by continuing to wash your hands thoroughly, before and after, a delivery, and cough into your sleeve. If you prefer not to open your door during a delivery, please inform your Volunteer Helper and they will give you a poster to put up in your front window to warn others of your self-isolating preference. During in times of crisis, regrettably we are aware that criminals may creep out of the woodwork so if you don’t know your volunteer helper and are worried for your safety, please contact Dawn Beeby and we will issue you and your helper with a password to initiate trust. |
How to send a 'virtual' hug in LamberhurstSend somebody a ‘virtual hug’ to bring a bit of cheer during this difficult time in Lamberhurst
1. Colour in a picture, write a letter, share a food recipe, share a countryside walk or be more creative! 2. Post it to a neighbour to make them smile 3. Or post it in the postbox at 23 Brewer Street or at Fidgets Preschool & Nursery, on the Vineyard (and the LCOS Voluntary group will distribute them during our permitted daily walk to exercise) IMPORTANT: include the words ‘please wash your hands, on receipt, as a precaution’ (The sender may wish to write back so it is up to you if you wish to leave your name/address) |
The safety and well-being of all in our community is our priority.
Please continue to follow Government guidelines
and try not to be overwhelm by it all - Lamberhurst is a strong community, we will
pull together to get through this.
