Once again the residents of Lamberhurst put on a fantastic halloween for the children of the village to enjoy. A massive thanks to all those that put such effort into their displays

The Abbey now has a second hand book shop in the Dower House, open and staffed by volunteers every Saturday through November 2021 and in February and March 2022, from 11am to 3pm. Closed in December and January.
At the same time (11-3pm) there will be Short Talks on the history of the site, so a double reason to visit this important heritage. We also welcome contributions of books in a reasonable condition. They can be delivered at the above times. English Heritage are seeking more volunteers during this winter and into next year, to join our expanding team. Contact [email protected] or visit the English Heritage website Wadhurst and District Flower Club
(NAFAS - National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies) Our meeting on the first Thursday of October saw members and guests being delighted by an inspiring and informative demonstration from a former winner of Chelsea’s Young Designer of the Year competition. Using both familiar and unusual flowers and greenery, we saw novel arrangements being created - some using hot bright colours and others using calm cool ones. Flower lovers won’t want to miss the next meeting on Thursday 4 November at 1.45 pm at Stonegate Village Hall when once again we will be able to see different ways of displaying flowers and have the opportunity to take home one of the arrangements which will be raffled at the end of the afternoon. We would also be delighted if you join us for the Christmas demonstration on Thursday 4 December where you will be greeted with mulled-wine before being entertained by a National Demonstrator. What promises to be a very festive afternoon will be rounded off, as always, with a chance to win one of the arrangments in the raffle, before enjoying tea or coffee with mince pies. Do join us! Tickets for this special event will be £15. Please contact Debbie on 01435 882851, or Sonia on 01892 785671, for further information. All are welcome! |
