University of the Third Age
GOUDHURST AND DISTRICT
Although termed a University, U3A uses the word in its original sense, meaning “a corporation of persons devoted to a particular activity, not necessarily intellectual”. Members will be retired or semi-retired and meet in informal Groups to pool their knowledge and skills for mutual benefit and enjoyment – no targets or exam pressure. Headquartered in Goudhurst, members from all surrounding parishes are very welcome. The membership year starts on 1 November with an annual membership of £25.00 – less than 50 pence per week. This will cover the cost of monthly speakers, membership of The Third Age Trust and Newsletters throughout the year.
